In my opinion the loan wavier scheme anounced by GOI in the budget (costing 60,000 Crores) is due to this land distribution policy. You give 1-2 acres of land to one family of 5 person, he can not use any modern technology in this small piece of land, as all modern tech. required big land holdings. So he use old age tech. with less productivity. the yield is not even enough for his family. So he can not survive. The idea should be to encourage the farmers to follow corporate farming, pool all their lands and resorces in one socity, use modern technology and produce more yield, divide the profites according to their holdings and resorces. I am sure the results will be better than todays. But allas our politicans live on divide and rule policies, so they will further divide the land may be to the level of 1 m2, just to get more votes.
