principle, ideology, straight forwardness etc etc. are untouchable for politicians. whoever may be the politician. BJP or DMK all have the same aim. POLITICS. Had BJP have alliance with DMK? yes. Had BJP have alliance with AIADMK? yes. Had they have fight with them? yes. a time may come when BJP call karunanithi as an avatar of RAM. wait and see. Hence there is no permanent enmity and permanent friendship in politics.
