By any standard the common man who has shown Last Respect is much above the above mentioned functionaries who have NO RESPECT for THE GREAT HERO. During 1962-63, when I was studying B.E.,-in the 3rd College of Engineering Guindy FIELD MARSHAL CARIAPPA came to our college (just after the news broke about Chinese aggression)and Students Union requested Principal to organise an address in the auditorium for the entire college. Mr. Cariappas adrdress for 20 minutes kept every body spell bound and his advise still sounds in my ears. During his talk he mentioned about the differences which crept in with the then Prime Minister and felt TOTALLY IGNORED. If such is the treatment by politicians (Mr.Jawaharlal Nehru may be a great leader but a politician) for a commander like Mr. Cariappa what we can expect from the politicians for a brave and true soldiers.
