Indira Gandhi was so in love with Sam Maneckshaw and his blue eyes. She preferred to keep him close to her as she had weakness for the Parsi men. When Shaw was about to retire, Lt. General Jagjit Singh Aurora was next in line to be the General of Indian Army. Gen. Aurora was the real hero who created Bangladesh while Maneckshaw warmed Indira gandhi's bed in Delhi. Indira Gandhi extended Maneckshaw's tenure for a year denying General Aurora the opportunity to become the General. She later promoted Maneckshaw to the title of Field Marshall. General Aurora retired and served the country as MP, Rajyasabha.
