He did do great things during the war. Later during peace time he lent his name to shady finance companies, like HARVEST FINANCE at Mumbai, PRUDENTIAL (or similar sounding name) at Calcutta, n some more, that I can not recall at this monent n time. Many investors felt secured at seeing Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw's name as one of the directors. too bad, all these finance companies failed n investors suffered. Ramiro D'Souza
