Since in the country lot of people have visited US and they have some connection with US they are blindly supporting 123. It is similar to 1970-80 situation when people used to support USSR because it used to pump money to powerfuls in India.
I again say that power is eyewash. US needs us . We can align with US without 123. US needs bussiness in nuclear tech. It in any case will sell nuclear tech to us. We are unneccesarilly commiting overself
No doubt we should align with US in present political and security scenario but that can be done without 123 also
