The n-deal must be based on advancing India's interests and at the same time protecting India's sovereignity at all costs. India can be a a big player and need not kowtow to any country, be it the EU or the USA. The n-deal must not compromise India's fullest independence. This is how china is advancing. Why not India. India must wake up. She is always ten steps behind. India must not allow itself by the West's flattery about its democracy and Gandhian non-violence, it must be firstly concerned about India's national interest. Every nation is first concerned about its national interest, including its foreign policy. The issue about the n-deal is, does it further India's national interests without compromising its independence. If it does not it must be abandoned, and India must pusue its own path towards nuclear and energy development.
