People have a constitutional right to protest.Use of brute force by the Security Forces resulting in death of one youth and serious injury to many others is unconstitutional and outrageous. Kashmiris are tempermantally peace loving and hospitable people. Those who feel otherwise should go there, may be as a tourists, interact with cross section of Kashmiris and analyse for themselves the facts.Repeated repressions, rigging in Elections, political and constitutional manuplations etc.resulted in pushing Kashmiris to the wall which culminated in armed struggle. There is a saying,"People don't see who rules them, People see how they are ruled."More than one lakh kashmiris have been killed since rise of the militancy. It is high time that the Media and the civil society across the country involve themselves with the socio-political problem of J&K and interact with their counterparts there and come out with a pragmatic solution to the present state of affairs.Unfortunately they have not played their role fairly with the result that Indian public is not really aware of what has actually happened in J&K in Kashmir since last sixty years. The Amarnath yatra has been going on in Kashmir ever since the holy cave was discovered by local muslims and handed over to the local hindus, the Pandits. The yatra is being politicised by the Chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board which is very unfortunate and dangerous. This issue needs to be handled with wisdom and not by taking positions blindly.
