Simply sign the non-proliferation treaty!
by viswanatha seshadri on Jun 22, 2008 12:08 AM

Instead of being at the mercy of the mad marxists, india can simply sign the non-proliferation treaty and eliminate the ban on import of nuclear plant materials. We have, anyway, already declared we will not first-use nuclear arms on others ourselves. China, Israel, EU countries or US or Russia etc are unlikely to use their arms on others, will also prevent pak, NK, iran from doing so. We refused to sign NPT only bec it was selectively imposed. In current context, the selectivity is only imaginary.

In fact, india can consult the new civilian govt in pak, india and pak can together sign the NPT. Both can benefit and develop offshore nuclear plants. Iran will also do that then, Bush would have no reason to attack iran, then.

India can utilize the nuclear science-force at his disposal and quickly develop nuclear power stations, becoming independant of polluting oil-gas-coal power and energy, like France. The special deal promoted by US will become unnecessary. Countries like Japan and Australia will become more friendly to us.
