Sreekanth, Fully agree with you! But that reflects the quality of the democrasy that this country practices. Once we vote our leaders in to power they assume and we at least vaguely agree that they have the license to do what ever the wish to do ! People for the politician means voters . Voters that believe are relevant only on voting day. The colonial forces that ruled India, believed that we were the 'Whiteman’s burden'. The political leaders likewise believe that we are their burden ! What freedom has come to mean is that there was a paradigm shift when it comes to the owner of the burden . Jawaharlal Nehru , the grand old man of Indian democracy once said that 'if the Congress party put up a broom stick as a candidate under its symbol it would win any election in India' That probably represents the contempt that Indian politicians have the common man that they choose to rule . The solution lies with the people of India . Democracy gives them the right to demand that their views are given due respect when decisions are made . This is valid for the Nuclear Deal or for any political move that may have great relevance for the people of this country .
