I did not convert. My forefathers converted before 200 years mainly because
- they were not allowed to enter hindu temples
- their women were not allowed wear decent dresses (google and read 'mulakaram')
- they have to maintain 12 feet distance with so-called uppercastes.
- they were not allowed to get educated
- they were not allowed to live in decent houses
The above info. is not my imagination but is a history. If you want to know more read books on history of Travancore.
Once converted to christianity, our forefathers and successors could live a decent life with self-respect and dignity because of efforts by missionaries.
Still we are christians because
- we have found that compared to other religions christianity is the best in the world.
- we do not want to worship idols.
- we do not want to believe in myths and superstitions.
- we have nearly 100% literacy rate
