Krishnan Hariharan-Sorry to correct you. Mid day meal scheme was introduced by Shri.K. Kamaraj way back in 60s. MGR relaxed liquor distribution, took money from poor workers and distributed to poor in mid day meal scheme where most of his high flying fans worked to commit fraud and earn lakhs of rupees those days. His Ramavaram garden was famous for inviting disgruntled politicians and were treated with tools and weapons! He planned from 1943 and cheated public till he died. he had a commanding majority in Assembley and yet could not introduce quota for economically backward class. he tried couple of times and many of his assembley mates threatened him! There are many assessment years he cheated income tax department! He couldn't speak still he continued as CM and ruined Tamil Nadu. He brought to fore a most incompetant and corrupt person (Jayalailatha) to center stage of politics. It is also widely spoken that early days he attacked his cinema friend Ganapathi bhatt and stole his wife Janaki to marry! there are several cinema personalities who were ruined by him due to personal vengence, for example Chandra Babu, Kuladeivam rajagopal etc. he wanted to team with Rathi Agnihotri as hero for which she refused, a biig blow for him and thereafter he never could dictate cine field! He was too good at getting hefty bribes in suit case thus introduced suitcase culture in TN/India!
