too much to expect
by Nandakumar Chandran on Jun 12, 2008 06:21 PM

i can only gawk at rajeev's expectations of the indian govt. it should be understood that the nehru/congress mentality is that india ultimately has to turn british/european to be recognized as civilized/cultured - so the brits can do no wrong in the eyes of these coconuts. and crimes like jalaianwala bagh are "inevitable excesses" for the "greater cause". "modern" india today is a country without shame or honour or pride - just a bunch of monkeys running around in suits without a clue about its native traditions - and so no wonder the world despises us. in contrast traditional india has always enjoyed respect - from mao to mark twain to the brazilian legislators who recently ignored pratibha patil but turned up in droves to meet sri sri ravishankar.
