Gurjar Sufi master's shrine draws thousands

Thousands of devotees including a delegation of scholars from Pakistan today offered urs prayers at the shrine of revered Gurjar saint Mian Nizamuddin Larvi in Ganderbal district, J&K.

The annual celebration ended at Wanghat Kangan village, 40 km from here, with the release of a Gojri language publication entitled 'Gojri ka Lal' depicting the life and works of the master.

The 356 page collection of research papers is edited by Cultural Officer of the Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Javaid Rahi.

Rahi said the Gojri wing of the Academy has taken out 20 publications. "We are translating 50 world classics into Gojri and 12 have already been published," he said, adding more books on the Gurjar Sufi tradition were in the pipeline
