its very important to have our "presence" on the other border of Pakistan. its also important that we be best friends with the Afgan govt and work for its stability, and the Talib's defeat.
Imagine what we could have done to the Paki's all those years in 60s and 70s and 80s if we didnt have to worry about the Chinese on our other flank.
