When it comes to country, country's interest matters and not individual. Middle-East would like to deal with an efficient Administrator and now a days nobody (at least in India) cares about Mullahs who are into spreading hate and not provide education to their own community.
Also, my guess is that 1) he won't allow the amount of oil import to increase as he would put more emphasis on renewable energy to decrease the dependency on other countries. 2) Cut down military expenses in J&K and wisely use the same money to root-out militancy.
