I agree Raviteja. I'm sure there are great officers out there. Unfortunately, their greatness is shrouded in the predominance of innefficiency and corruption that has, no doubt, eaten into the system. It is easy for us to sit here and whine about the situation - the whining only comes from a deep sense of frustration with the policy system. However, I think the media would do well to equally highlight the success stories of the polic so that citizens begin to feel like there's hope. The media loves to demonize the police, and that's how public opinion is formed too. However, I will say one thing - the polic on the road do NOT behave like a police force. I have lived overseas for many years and can tell you that when you see a policeman overseas you really feel secure! Here, I have seen police vans blatantly break traffic rules. One almost rammed into me - not because it was chasing a criminal - its light was not even flashing. It was just careless driving on the part of the police team. The police needs a makeover to regain the trust of fellow citizens.
