Untouchability was not supported in Hindu vedas and religious books though smthign started based on profession converted in caste system by people for their benefits..But at least they are correctig these wrong doings of past...not like people who still killing each other or allowing there men to marry as many gals as he wants...If thats the case today, not sure what was the scene in history....
