The allegations that US is implicitly conducting a proxy war is untrue. The reasons are many 1) It wants to develop stronger relations with India regarding the Nuclear non-proliferation technology know-how. 2) Many US companies are investing heavily in India. 3) US funds pakistan to support efforts against Al-qaeda and Taliban. 4) Collapse of the USSR has made India less of a threat to capitalistic powers.
