For some reason, many of us negate indianness, right down to its holy books and spirituality and our wonderful civilization handed over to us from time immemorial. By not imparting the most advanced of knowledge contained in the GITA, we are denying our future generations rich knowledge that takes millions of years to evolve. Having interacted with people from around the globe, I come back feeling what a great civilization ours is and what lessons it holds for the entire world, of which, perhaps the GITA occupies the centrefold. But we prefer to treat it as hindu philosophy and not what we can take from it for humanity. It is our bad luck and perhaps karma that we cannot appreciate what is in our hands and will perhaps realise only when we lose our civilization to modernity and western influence. I hope to god, that we do not have to witness this spectacle.
To many, there seems to be something very inferior about being Indian and its fashionable to denounce indianness or indian civilization. Correct me if I am wrong.
