Set your facts right. It is not Nehru who gave in, but Gandhi who insisted that jinnah be made the PM of independent India. Nehru was unwilling to give that post of Jinna and wanted to become the PM himself. It soon became a communal issue with Jinna getting support from his community and attacks on each other started soon. When the riots became out of control and nobody was willing to listen to Gandhi, he said that it is better to divide the country into two.
