India does not generate power from oil and gas. There are only 3 sources of power in India - major Thermal coal based, Hydro and nuclear currently 2%.
Australia is the most important supplier of uranium which is the fuel used in the nuclear reactors. So if Australia says no for the supply of uranium then major supplier of fuel is lost and that is what it is currently doing. We will join the N-Club for only technology to build power plants but not nuclear weapons but this also puts our our nuclear plant under inspection which are currently the major sources for nuclear weapons of india. And these inspection will be done by IAEA the same organisation which had declared that IRAQ had nuclear weapons.
