Acording to media report, Debabrata Biswas of the Forward Bloc felt Somnath Chatterjee "was never a Leftist. Be it his attitude or lifestyle, he was a bourgeois to the core". Does Mr. Biswas want to say that only a respected and honourable person like Somnath Chatterjee maintains high lifestyle? It is a well known fact that almost all the Leftist leaders of today maintain luxurious lifestyles but sometimes they shed crocodile tears for the poor not out of love for such hapless people but keeping in mind the vote bank politics. The present day politicians are only interested in amassing wealth and maintaining lavish lifestyles. Why single out Sri Somnath Chatterjee?
