RE:Time will prove it all..
by Ashok Gobindram Lulla on Jul 24, 2008 03:38 PM

"Manmohan Singh started Indian economic reforms...? Are you sure of your facts?
His boss that time was Mr. P V Narasimha Rao.
Barring Babri Masjid debacle, he was the true architect of those reforms. This was the man who had a shrewd undderstanding of the nation's needs, and despite a slim 'manufactured' majority, he ran the country well. He was an administrator in the Chanakya mould. He could have chosen to make Dr Manmohan Singh a 'darbari' the way Sonia Gandhi did; but he did not. Dr. Manmohan Singh did not have, and still does not have any vision about India. As for his being 'honest, upright, man of integrity' and all those shibboleths, we have all seen a display of his integrity and Congress values in the Trust vote.

Incidentally, Mr. Narasimha Rao represents only the non-Family member of the Congress to have
completed a full 5-year tenure as Prime Minister. A fact that has stuck in the throat of
the Signora Sonia Gandhi, nee Maino. When he died, the Congress, under instructions of this family, hustled his body out of Delhi and hastily cremated it, so that a memorial to Narasimha Rao could not be erected. Had his body
been kept in state, for a few days, then a public demand would gone out that he was a worthy son of India, who merited a memorial. The
(naqli) Gandhis believes it is solely the pre- rogative of the Gandhis to have memorials of their kith and kin in Delhi. Imagine the irony,
a Charan Singh gets a samadhi in his memory. But not a full-term CONGRESS PM.
