Trust Vote Win - Manmohan Singh stand vindicated
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jul 23, 2008 08:55 AM

What a transformation for Dr.Manmohan Singh from a techocrat politician to politicians' politician. He was beaming and flashing vicotry sign before entering the Parliament House. As the session by session progresses, his chance of winning the motion became brighter. Advani and company were dwarfed speaker after speaker. It was first Pranab Mukherjee who blasted Advani, followed by Sharma and Praful Patel. Opposition was no match to the well prepared UPA members. That was on 21st. But on 22nd it was the turn of lawyer-politician P.Chidambaram to lambast the opposition with his characteristic remarks and his listing out the achievement made the opposition dumb and silent. Rahul chipped in but it was Lalu who stole the thunder. The icing on the cake came from two youngesters, first Owaisis of MIM and then Omar Abdullah of NC. Owasis' powerpacked punches of dragging the Muslims into the deal and Left failure to grant any assistance to the 29% Muslims of West Bengal exposed the Left to hilt. Then came the short but sweet powerful speech of Abdullah. He was an Indian and Muslim and saw no difference between the two to the thunderous applause from one and all in the House. He assured that no yatri to Amarnath would be hurt as long as Kashmiri Muslims are there. He would not forgive himself for not resigning during NDA rule when Gujarat was burning and Muslims were killed. He was sorry to have supported the NDA. He chided the Left for joining hands with BJP to topple the secular Govt.
