Our Speaker
by hrushikesh acharya on Jul 25, 2008 09:23 AM

This incident shows the extent to which our type of democracy and party rule has deteriorated. The party is made of a number of people, but people become insignificant after the party is formed. the arrogance and ego of the office-bearers in the party try to be the masters and force the other members to comply to their wishes and dance to their tune. This shows that the party bosses forget their duty to hear the member's voice in the right way, and act as if they are the new dictator. This is done in the name of discipline, by people who have forgotten the definition of discipline.
The stand of the speaker is lauded by the people of the country, by the cross-section of people irrespective of party affiliation. Some among the communists may also be admiring this stand, but in the name of discipline of the party they would not be opening their mouth in public. we wish that all MPs could be able to act like the speaker and act as per their due conscience for the good of the nation, and not act like ROBOTs.
