The highlight of the second's debate certainly belonged to two young Muslim MPs,who with their power packed tinged with patriotic flavour won the heart and soul of Muslim Ummah in the country with UPA benches clapping continuously. It was Owasis of MIM from Hydrabad, who enlivened the proceedings with a dig at the Left, who claimed to champion the cause of Muslims, but in its own state of WB, it granted 2% concenssions to the 29% Muslim population. He had his own reservations against the deal due to its impact on the foreign policy but emphatically said that the Muslims fully supported it in the national interest. He had a dig at BSP and Left combine as to why they dragged the name of Muslims to the deal unnecessarily. He thanked UPA for granting 1500 cr for Muslims. Omar Abdullah then stole the show with his remarks that he was a Muslim and Indian and saw no difference between the two. Abdullah said he was ashamed to have associated with NDA and felt his conscience would never forgive him for not resigning in the height of Gujarat riots where Muslims were butchered. He supported the motion of UPA for it was beneficial to the country and wanted to consolidate secular forces. He will never associate with NDA, a communal outfit responsible for demolition of Babri Masjid and riots in Gujarat,a shameful act.To a thunderous applause he assured that not a single Amarnath yatri would be hurt as long as Muslims are there in Kashmir. He was fighting for his land and not against yatris.
