I was a anti-congressman for the life of me of 50 years. I was against Mrs. Indira Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and Rajeev Gandhi’s congress. But, 4 years back after winning the general election, when Sonia handed over the reins to Manmohan Singh, I started to notice that Sonia is different from the rest of the Gandhi Clan. Although the rest of the Congress Party hasn’t changed yet, the top leadership is more matured and when the Chips are down on the Nuke Deal, they did not hesitate to take action. Today, I also witnessed Rahul Gandhi’s speech on the parliament where he was praising Vajpayee’s contribution to the Nuke deal whom I also admire when he ran the country during difficult (kargil) time. That is the sign of maturity at this young age for Rahul. The difference between Rahul and his late dad is his mother Sonia’s influence in rearing him well as well as slowly bringing him to politics. Having said that, I cannot say the same thing about BJP’s leadership especially LK Advani. Their Cash-for-Vote stunt today in the parliament is pathetic. First, the speaker and the govt should confiscate that 1 crore money if it doesn’t belong to those BJP MPs. Then the truth will come out whether this a stunt orchestrated by BJP or not. In my opinion, BJP should not have opposed this nuke deal. They are going to pay a big prize in the upcoming general election.
