Sad day for Democracy..that is true
by vivek murthi on Jul 23, 2008 12:17 AM

The govt should not have been asked to show confidence in the first place. I work in the energy sector. I know somethings to comment about nuclear energy for electricity. The only viable and reliable source after coal is nuclear energy. Wind and hydro thermal are dependent on natural forces. You have no control over it. Nuclear energy not only generates clean power but is also very efficient. All these years, India could not afford to have more nuclear plants because we don't have reliable sources of raw materials. With the nuclear deal we get access to fuel from other countries and NSG and hence can think of building more nuclear power plants. People who blindly accept the words of stupid politicians like the CPI should at least try to get the facts before jumping on the band wagon.
The day that happens we would have succeeded as a democratic nation. Until the day people like Karat cease to exist it will be a sad day for democracy.
