NDA verge of Disintegration
by All Right on Jul 22, 2008 01:27 PM

Prepare for early elections - November-December. The UPA has the momentum and the NDA and UNPA served a big blow.

It is not so much winning the trust vote that is significant that the manner UPA augmented its coalition base. It adds, SP, JDS, Lok Dal, TC and NC to its fold.

The alliance checks BSP threat to sweep UP. Now BSP can hope at the most to 25-30 seats (still up 100% from 2004). In Karnataka, A JDS=Congress alliance will clean sweep the state. A Trinamool Congress-Congress alliance will halve Left Front's seat taly in West Bengal. In J&K, whether PDP or NC wins, both are allies of the Congress.

The whole exercise means the NDA remains a highly depleted force. The more desertions from BJp makes it susceptible for NDA allies to desert NDA towards UNPA or even the Congress.

Opposing the deal by the party was a very bad idea, disappointing supporters and MPs alike.

The party should have listened to Vajpayee, Brajesh Mishra and even senile Advani. Now Advani's dream of PM is over.
