why dont you go and see the open letter of Ahmadin Nejad to bush and see if he is preaching you so called Ali's islam or the true islam reestablished by Mohammad (SAWS). is he shia? does he blieve in the same islam and preaches the same one? then there is not conflict with shia and sunni.
political differences will be there and that will be solved when time comes.
right now iran is on the right path of having its own technical development and usa is the cunning wolf who wants to suppress others progress and rule them directly or indirectly.
