Leftists' challenge
by Chittur Subbaraman on Jul 21, 2008 08:21 AM

The speaker is right. He should be above party politics. If CPM takes adverse action against Shri Chatterjee, it would put CPM in poor light in the eyes of every democratic and rightminded person. Whatever may be the outcome of the Confidence vote, one thing is or should be certain; i.e. Leftists should be wiped out of this country's politics, at least for the next five years. By the way, no analyst has commented on the proposition: If both for and against the motion, equal number of votes is cast and the Speaker refuses to exercise his casting vote, what would be the position?
