It was most unfortunate that Congress cancelled land allotment to Shri Amarnath Shrine Board. Agreed it appeased a section of Indian population, but did it not also give space and sanction to seccessionist and fundamentalist forces? These forces assured of a compassionate dealing by the government are targeting Indian people. Even Ghulam Nabi Azad conceded that protest over land transfer to the shrine board were not locally motivated, but had backing from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. General Sinha also recently revealed that PDP man Mufti Mohammed Saeed was himself part of anti-India forces. Even militants have said that Yaseen Malik and Saeed had staged a kidnap drama of the latter's daughter precisely to set a tone for such attacks. Unfortunately, the Centre has again overlooked such a brutal attack, because they do not want to hurt their appeasement vote bank ahead of the general elections as they are in near disarray and an imminent fall down. If the new government also continues with appeasement, it would be most unfortunate for innocent Indian civilians.
