I would have thought this was obvious from the experience the Congress had with the Left and cutting it adrift. I don't think any of the major parties want to be handicapped by minority parties. BJP and Congress, as major national parties, have the right, depending on the trust vote outcomes, to go to the polls if they feel they have difficult parties to work with. Even if NDA wins, I can see the Left will be ideologically at odds in every respect with BJP, such an arrangement will never last. In the interest of stability, major parties must go to the polls to get people's mandate on key major issues instead of depending on extorting minor parties.
