RE:WHY BLAME BJP? R OTHER NOT COMMUNAL?
by Kris iyer on Jul 18, 2008 10:11 AM

Dear Khali,
An exceptional post. Lots of people, of all communities in India regret riots. There are no winners. Everyone loses. But fanatics think their community has "won". The truth is, normal life is interrupted for weeks, if not months. Property damage can run into crores of rupees. We saw what happened in the Gujjar agitation. Several people died and Rajasthan suffered a loss of production of Rs.10,000 Crores.

Indian crowds can get very emotional and get out of control very quickly. That is why so many rioters die in police firing. In Gujarat too that happened. Even anti-Modi papers said that up to 200 Hindu rioters were shot dead by the Gujarat Police.
No national political party, especially, if they are ruling the state, would want communal riots in their state.. because of loss of "vote-bank". Serious caste clashes, which are many times more than communal riots, are also not welcome.
As India's economy improves, it is hoped that riots will gradually decrease. It is very important for all sections of society in India to participate FULLY in economic activities. That can happen only through higher education and mixing freely with other communities.

I hope the Mullahs and other conservatives in the muslim community will not stop muslims from full participation in India's main stream.
