BJP is desperate to vote out UPA Govt
by jamsheed abumohammed on Jul 16, 2008 08:28 PM

The BJP camp is nervous, jittering, desperate and keeping fingers crossed till Tuesday. What they have failed to assess is that the UPA camp may spring a surprise or two to upset all the calculations. The recent being the cancellation of the briefing of IAEA members slated on July 18. If what was reported was true, then all efforts of the BJP and allies to bring down this Govt of Manmohan Singh would come to nought. Its because the Left would be satisfied and hence may not vote against the Govt. Besides, all the secular parties will join hands to defeat the communal forces led by BJP. This would become reality on Tuesday when the Trust Vote is taken on the floor of the House. UPA Camp too is not a happy lot. It is now resigned to the reality as the requisite majority is still elusive. The independents and other splinter groups are demanding their pound of flesh. JMM leader Soren's wish list including Coal portfolio for him. Similar demands may be brought before the PM by these splinter groups. This is an unending process and headache is ahead for him. Should these headaches and blackmailing is required to win this vote. PM should think seriously. The option before him is to tender resignation before the trust vote is taken and face the elections. He can go to the people and explain the circumstances under which he took the extreme step.It was worth taking risk as echoed by Rahul Gandhi. The other option is face the vote and be happy with whatever happens in the nation interest.
