Nuclear deal
by sisir majumder on Jul 16, 2008 04:47 PM

It is unfortunate that the country is leading towards a dangerous path. This controversial issue must be solved with clear picture in the parliament. It is clear that when the deal is submitted to the watchdog of governors for approval, getting it access to US Nuclear fuel and Reactor Technology. It is evident that India's declared civilian Reactors-14 out of 22 will be suject to regular non-proliferation inspections. This is the precondition for Nuclear trade with the US and others in the NSG.Sould we sacrifice our sovereignty at the cost of this deal.Govt. should be transperant in this regard-several points that raised questions- regarding restriction in monitaring of India's Atomic programmes- Government should explain the issues for the sake of clarity and national interest.
