Spreading fear
by Sandeep on Jul 16, 2008 02:45 PM

This is plainly a misleading article. Going by this logic, no big project should be taken up in India since that will involve big business.

Clearly the issues is - We need nuclear energy as also all renewable resources we can use which includes solar/wind etc however small their potential currently. Clearly India has huge shortage of power and this needs to be attacked urgently.

We need to get as much energy and as fast as possible without relying on oil. Energy can be a bigger problem in future than worrying about some countries stopping nuclear fuel supply or big business based on unproven conspiracy theories.

Not all the reactors have to come under safeguards. There will for sure be a problem if India decides to explode another nuclear device but then does that look likely in near future?
Hopefully, we got enough information from last explosions to not having to repeat it for next 10 years. Then bank supplies in parallel just in case we have to later on..
