Martin, Yes, pertinent questions. The one-sided imbalance in our public discussions is brought out by your questions. I was amazed that none of the "social activists" who made so much noise about on "some" issues, said anything about the way TASLEEMA NAZREEN was treated in India. Teesta Setalvad had the decency to admit, in passing, that she should have spoken against the way the Kashmiri Pandits were treated. Our "famous" Arundhati Roy, when challenged by her own friends, issued a pathetic statement: "I would want to be known as a writer not a social activist". So, now she tells us.
The word HYPOCRACY come to mind. There is cowardice in talking about issues involving Islam and muslims - which, I believe, can be done using moderate language. They go for the easy options. They are NOT neutral.
