Let's eat the cake and have it too!!

It seems everybody agrees that the deal has some merits and some drawbacks. Congress and other parties supporting the deal think that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. Left and BJP think that the deal is not worth the negative impact it might cause..

The people behind the deal from the Indian side might be thinking that shortcomings in the deal is subject to various interpretations and if those things become really harmful for the country, we can take ‘corrective actions’ and whatever action we take, we can defend or justify them. They cannot publicly say the same before the deal is signed for obvious reasons!

I don’t think we should worry too about USA as a country or an American president (Bush) who is going to be out of power soon. Also, I don’t think we should worry too much about American laws-they are all subject to change all the time.

So sign the deal if congress and the main opposition party( BJP ) think that it has some benefits .We can ignore the part that has the potential to affect the country badly.

As for BJP, if they think that they will come back to power, they should let the deal go through because as a political party they will be benefited most in the next 5 years. If there is any negative impact(unlikely),they can always blame congress!!

Let’s try and become more powerful now when USA is at its most vulnerable moment!!
