soft targets of sensationalism
by Sandeep Mukherjee on Jul 11, 2008 07:54 PM

friends , in india these days ( learned from north america and UK) political correctness is the latest God! if you are a man, not belonging to " underprivileged" category ( meaning u earn yr own living and pay yr taxes without any reservation or quota or strike or dharna), if u dont belong to special castes then u r a soft target for the police, media and the courts.. u can be easily accused of anything and immediately the TRP hunting channels and the circulation hubting print media will pounce on u.. they will say anything.. come up with any theory and use any bedroom fantasy to make u look like a villain.. and once that happends , we, the mahan indian public will pronounce u gulity and willdemand u be lynched as early as possible! and anyone who says ur not guilty will also be castigated since he / she is spoiling th party... so we get wild with anger only when a rich person (man )causes a car accident while hundreds of truck wallahs, auto wallahs, taxi wallahs and matador wallahas kill en masse on th roads every day without any media furore.. if someone's servant is a serial killer then the employer too HAS to be pronounced guilty! if yr servants and assistants kill yr daughter then somehow its yr fault and yr personal life is to be blamed, yr affairs.. yr friends .. their affairs etc are responsible for the crime .. why? coz its politically correct and morally upright to go after u regardless of the facts of the case! this can happen to anyone of us any day!
