Even Amar Singh thinks that if today elections are held, BJP will win. So he says that he supported the deal becoz he wanted to keep "communal forces" out.
In reality, he has got many backroom negotiations for his Reliance friends as well as hushing up of cases against himself and Mulayam.
When the elections are held eventually, he will not be able to suppress the people's verdict, which he is trying to do now.
