IAEA safeguards draft cant be made public:kakodkar
by pjothilingam on Jul 10, 2008 02:12 PM

Because the evolving scenario in the matter of the nuke deal belied promises made in public by our politicians, because the whole process lacked transparancy and because our experts talked in divergent lines, the public has lost confidence in their political and scientific leaders. So ,let the draft be made public and let the people analyse for themselves what is written in the safeguards pact. One need not be an expert on nuclear science or strategic studies to be able to form an idea where we are heading for.If it is not possible to reveal the text, why should the public stick out their neck for being possibly hanged in future?Frankly, don't fault the common man if he hesitates to trust our serving scientists in matters where politicians have a stake.Remember, what one serving senior scientist said immediately after the Bhopal gas tragedy?
Choose between public trust or nuke deal.
