Lets not lie to ourselves. If left are not blindly against any deal with USA...they should have clearly spelt out what was wrong with the agreement. Both Hyde and 123 text is available. Why have they not come out clearly with what is not okay with it rather than plain rhetoric. Why hasnt been an open debate? Why is it that for months together they hold so many committee meetings...each time they raise queries and Cong replies in the next meeting. Now..what were these queries and what were the replies, nobody knows? The fact is they only played politics, national interest is all to the dustbins. This true with all the political parties, Cong, BJP, SP, Left, right and center. Thats the bane of this nation. But the fact that Russia says that it is a good deal for india does mean a lot. It would certainly mean that India is not going to surrender its so called foreign policy to USA, because Russia wouldnt want to lose close relationship with India to USA. It would also mean that India can now freely access nuclear technology from anywhere apart from USA. So in that perspective I believe it is a good deal.
