I think someone in Rediff News Bureau is trying to fool the readers are he is simply naive and want to be heard for cheap.

Nothing will move forward in the deal unless US blesses this deal. Remember this is not a UN or some kind of a world level deal - tis is simply a contry to country deal where rest of the world is waiting for this to conclude. Nobody will move forward unless this is blessed by US at the end. Even if Russia is willing, the deal will be VERY expensive because they know we will have nowhere to go (Aus already refused to export Uranium to us unless NPT is signed - not this deal). Apart from Democrat controlled US, China will also pressurize other countries to oppose any nuclear trade with us.

What we will end up with are:
* We will open up significant number of nuclear plants for IAEA inspections
* Begging for Uranium worldwide as we will have legal right to do so after the NSG approval of this deal
* Koodankulam will have few reactors, but
* No other new reactors from foreign countries other than Russia
* Russia will charge us heavily (ala Gorshkov deal) to give with and exorbidant along the way
* Anytime we install a new reactors rest of the world would like that to be inspected by IAEA
* US and the rest of the world will keep accusing us of diverting nuclear materials for military purposes citing similarity with Iran and North Korea
* The beginning of pressure to sign all treaties beginning with FMCT and then CTBT and then NPT
* Our power shortages wi
