Advani's advice to PM to prove his majority within a week's time and urging the same to the President, was not received well within the political circles. First it is not his duty to impose when it should be done and the President is there to decide. Secondly what is the hurry for this man to become PM. It is understandable he is ageing and he would like to become PM sooner than later. But then the elections should be first held as per his wish in November and then he must get the majority, which he will never get. The number game has just started and it will be a tought time for BJP to topple the Govt. It first tried all the tricks under the sleeves to topple by offering PM post to Mulayam. When it did not work, BJP called the alliance between Cong-SP opportunistic while it was not so when he was courting SP. This is the real face of BJP who would stoop to any level to come to power. Congress is the most dignified of the lot, it would not do anything to undermine the established parliamentary practices. Its PM is docile and soft spoken and when time demanded he asserted himself. See how he thrown out Left challenge to his Govt. He is away in Japan but was fully aware of the ditching game of the Left. He was quick to say that there is no danger to the Govt. He would return and remain PM to face the trust vote during this month. He might or not prove the majority but one thing laudable about him was that he did not bow before the Left. He did what is right for the country.
