RE:Mr Prasad i respect u ,but

what is involved in this deal is NOT nuclear technology.
What is involved is the supply of enriched uranium of high quality and spare parts for nuclear reactors in case we require them . But the fact is we require them.
We do not have uranium here in India and we have plenty of thorium (in kerala).
We have not yet developed the technology to use thorium and derive energy from it .
Though research is going to develop thorium based reactors in India ,it may take another two decades.
Meanwhile any outsourcing from any other country like for example Australia is totally unreliable , for example recently Australian govt.
declared that they will not supply uranium any more.
What will you do ?
It is always better to go with this deal if you want India to develop very fast on the economy front.
With a country like India even USA or any other country can hardly control in any aspect when comes to practical realties.
When a country like USA supplies , it offcourse asks for auditing, as to how we have spent it?
But how can they really control?
Do you think that USA is such a fool to believe that India does not have nuclear weapons , nearly a hundred of them hidden in the Himalayan caves?
So take uranium and spare parts for our reacotors which are already in operation.
Many reactors are not running to full capacity.
And spare parts sourcing has become an extreme problem because USA has banned sales of such parts.
