MMS is NOT a 'world renowned' economist. He was merely employed as one of a large number of economists and advisers at IMF/WB - which are positions that come exclusively from high level political contacts because the money is great but the work is minimal. And there is no oversight.
WHAT do you think has MMS done to become 'renowned'? The decision to open up India's economy in 1991 was taken jointly by Narsimha Rao, MMS and a couple of others.
