Politics is not a matter of guts. For the people/parties involved is all a matter of gaining maximum political benefit from the political process. After all both the main political parties from Tamil Nadu DMK (the supposed inhirters of the Periyar legacy) and AIDMK as well as various other small fry (togather representing more than 90% of the TN polity)had no qualms at different times in aligning with the alleged Fascists. And collaborators are considered to be worse then the those they collaborate with.
