disclose the agreement
by Stew India on Jul 08, 2008 05:39 PM

This is quite ridiculous. As a lawyer who has negotiated deals with the government before, I know that none of the agreements that the government signs has a confidentiality clause precisely because every agreement may need to be submitted to Parliament. I support the nuclear deal because it will increase our nuclear power availability and dont have a problem separating defence and civilan nuclear stations (which should be separated anyway) but I dont see the logic of what Mukerjee is saying. He gives the impression he has something to hide. They should simply table the agreement in parliament and let it be available with every single person. If it has details of defence establishments (which it shouldnt since it relates to civilain stations only), then make it available to a parliamentary committee at least.
